The sandbox is your playing field

How big is your sandbox? The sandbox is the playing field on which the organization plays.

You define the playing field in three areas:

  1. Your target audience: which organizations do you serve or want to serve? These can be customers (‘end users’) but also distributors and resellers.
  2. Geography: where are these organisations located? In Gelderland, the Netherlands, Benelux, Europe, worldwide?
  3. Your products/services: what do you offer?

Examples of sandboxes include:

  • organizations with more than 10 employees in the construction and installation industry in the Netherlands for CRM solutions
  • SME organisations in the Netherlands for leadership training
  • high-net-worth individuals in Europe for designs by an architectural firm
  • thirsty consumers worldwide with a soft drink

It goes without saying that describing your playing field well and precisely is efficient.
